The “ask” 

Denyo designs, measures & engineers their own paint hooks. However, the designs were hand drawn so we were asked to transform them into 3D drawings. This included 20 different sizes and shapes of paint hooks based on unique jobs and new models of parts.

How it was used

To hang parts that need painting.

Unique about the specs

Customer product would be hung for an electrophoretic coating (e-coat) line. The e-coat process consists of the immersion of parts in a water-based solution containing a paint emulsion. Once the pieces have been immersed, an electrical current is applied, this generates a chemical reaction that causes the paint to adhere to the surface.

 

Also, there was an overhead conveyer that you hook your paint hooks into and put parts on. We used cold rolled steel because it is more durable than hot rolled and easier to bend, with more formability.
