The “ask” 

Martinrea International Inc. wanted a mother-daughter cart combination, where the mother cart transported a variety of daughter work in process carts.

How it was used

The dollies transported multiple sub-assembly components to the line-side.

Unique about the specs

Mother steel cart, using four-wheel steering with mechanical latch for daughter carts. After pulling daughter carts to line, a quick unlatch was done to roll fully loaded daughter cart in line and retrieve empty cart for re-loading.

Unique about how we helped the customer

During the prototype stages, we were able to help to fine tune the concept and design through a test and learn process. We tested fit and function with customer provided assemblies.

 

We ended up with 14 different cart designs combined, all made to carry automotive body components.
